8 Tricks to Planning the Vacation of Your Dreams

Planning a perfect vacation is always exciting. Often we wait all year for those two weeks. There can be a lot to plan, especially if you are trying to plan the vacation of your dreams.

Destination
Decide where you want to go or what you want to do. This is always the first step. Based on this decision you can start to plan the rest of the vacation. Do you want to go to the beach, eat great food or ski down a mountain? Also, decide how many people are going to go with you.

Tickets
First thing is to get are the plane tickets. It may seem like saving 100 dollars might be worth the four extra hours in an airport, but it is not. Traveling can be hard enough; don’t make it harder. Book your ticket at times that work for your schedule, both at departure and at your arrival. Remember to choose your seats and add any meal preferences before you go.

Accommodation
Decide if you will stay with friends or if you need accommodations. Staying with friends can be a great way to reduce costs. You also experience the area as a local and get insider tips. If you do book accommodation, do your research, look at reviews and locale. Don’t book something too far away from the areas that you want to visit.

Packing
Packing can be a challenge. How many outfits do you need? Be strategic. Ask yourself if you are really going to wear that. Putting liquids or expensive clothing in Ziploc bags can keep those items safe. Pack necessities just in case. Don’t forget your camera!

Research
Research the city and surrounding areas. What sightseeing do you want to do? What restaurants do you want to try? Don’t over plan down to the minute, but have a general idea about what you want to do. Doing a bit of research beforehand can make all the difference.

Relax
Make a conscious decision to have fun. Decide not to work or stress about other things. Try things you wouldn’t normally try. It is an adventure after all!

Finances
Let your bank know you are leaving. Some banks freeze your card if they see unusual purchases. Call them in advance and let them know your travel dates. Think about how much money you want to allocate to your trip. Budget enough to have fun, but be mindful of how you are spending.

Have Fun
You now you have a ticket and accommodation. Your bags are packed and your research all done. Going to the airport a little early is always safer. Be conscious of your surroundings and don’t leave your bags unattended.

You are all ready for your dream vacation. Relax and enjoy yourself.
